Reflecting Others

I have been reflecting on this week's quote quite a bit this week, thinking about how we have such expectations when it comes to how other people will be. There is a lovely thought in the Yoga Sutras (the precepts of yogic philosophy) that says our goal is to reflect others like a crystal. What it refers to is being able to see people precisely as they are in that moment. We see them clearly without memories of what they they did or said last year, yesterday, or even five minutes ago, and without expectation of what they will do or say.
